Error: The printer cannot be installed...(due to damaged driver).
Error:
This printer cannot be installed now because its driver <driver name> could not be loaded. The driver or the INF file may be damaged. Restart Windows and then try again.
Cause:
The printer driver file specified in the error message is damaged.
Solution:
Rename the existing printer driver, then reinstall the printer driver.
1) Rename the printer driver:
a) Note the name of the printer driver file.
b) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
c) Select 'Find' and select 'Files or Folders...'. (The 'Find: All Files' window appears.)
d) Select the root directory in which to search.
EXAMPLE: C:
e) Type the printer driver name in the 'Named' box.
f) Select the 'Include Sub-folders' check box.
g) Click 'Find Now'.
h) Right-click the printer driver file in the find results window to display the pop-up menu.
i) Select 'Rename'.
j) Type a new name. (The current name is automatically deleted.)
k) Press ENTER to accept the new name.
l) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close' to exit the 'Find: All Files' window.
2) Reinstall the printer driver:
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Settings' and select 'Printers'. (The 'Printers' window appears.)

c) Double-click the 'Add Printer' icon. (The 'Add Printer Wizard' appears.)

d) Click 'Next'.
e) Do one of the following to select the appropriate printer:
1] To install a local printer:
a] Select the 'Local Printer' radio button if the printer is attached directly to the computer.
b] Click 'Next'.

2] To install a network printer:
a] Select the 'Network Printer' radio button if the printer is attached to another computer or network.
b] Type the network path in the 'Network path or queue name'. (The path must include the network drive letter.)
c] Specify whether to print from MS-DOS-based programs.
d] Click 'Next'.
f) Do one of the following:
1] Select from available printers:
a] Select a manufacturer from the 'Manufacturers' list box.
b] Select a printer model from the 'Printers' list box.
2] Use the manufacturer's disk:
a] Click 'Have Disk...'. (The 'Install From Disk' dialog box appears.)
b] Type the path to the disk.
c] Click 'OK'.

g) Click 'Next'.
h) Select the printer port and click 'Next'.

i) (Optional) Type a name for the printer.
j) Select 'Yes' or 'No' the make this printer the default printer for Windows.

k) Click 'Next'.
l) Select 'Yes' or 'No' to print a test page.
m) Click 'Finish'. (The 'Insert Disk' dialog box appears.)
n) Insert the appropriate diskette or CD-ROM and click 'OK'.
o) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close' to exit the 'Printers' window.
